Differently-Abled Kanwariya Sandeep Kumar Sahu Begins Journey to Baba Dham from Sultanganj Devotee from Maharashtra Carries Holy Ganga Water, Prays for Family’s Happiness and Peace and a Good Life Partner
Sultanganj : In a moving display of faith and determination, differently-abled Kanwariya Sandeep Kumar Sahu, who arrived from Maharashtra, began his journey from Sultanganj to Baba Dham carrying holy Ganga water. Despite his physical challenges, his devotion and determination toward Lord Shiva have drawn attention. Sandeep is travelling to Baba Baidyanath Dham for the first time to offer the sacred Ganga water to Lord Shiva.
After reaching Sultanganj, he took a holy dip in the sacred north-flowing Ganga and performed prayers before collecting the holy water. He then placed the Ganga water in his Kanwar and began his journey towards Baba Dham. Before setting out, he prayed to Lord Shiva and sought peace, happiness and prosperity for his family.
Excited to Visit Baba’s Shrine for the First Time
Sandeep Kumar Sahu said this is his first visit to Baba Dham. He had wished for a long time to have darshan of Baba Baidyanath and offer Ganga water at the shrine. This year, he decided to fulfil that wish and travelled from Maharashtra to Sultanganj.
He said he has deep faith in Lord Shiva. With this faith, he has decided to continue his journey despite the difficulties involved. According to him, when there is strong devotion and determination in the heart, difficulties along the way seem less significant.
Prays for Family’s Happiness and Peace
Sandeep said that at Baba Baidyanath’s shrine, he will pray for the happiness, peace, good health and prosperity of his family. He also hopes to find a beautiful and understanding life partner.
He said he wishes that, with Lord Shiva’s blessings, he will soon have a good life partner and a happy married life. Expressing his faith in Baba Baidyanath, he said devotees believe that Lord Shiva listens to the sincere prayers of his followers.
Determination Despite Physical Disability
Sandeep’s journey is particularly noteworthy because he is travelling towards Baba Dham carrying a Kanwar despite being differently-abled. His faith and courage have inspired devotees and local residents along the route, who have encouraged him during his journey.
Sandeep said his physical limitations are certainly a challenge, but his faith in Lord Shiva gives him the strength to move forward. He hopes that his journey will inspire others not to give up on their faith or goals despite difficult circumstances.
Religious Journey Begins from Sultanganj
Large numbers of Kanwariyas travel from Sultanganj to Baba Dham after collecting holy Ganga water. Devotees from different parts of the country arrive at Sultanganj, collect water from the north-flowing Ganga in their Kanwars and then proceed on foot towards Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar.
Maharashtra-based Sandeep Kumar Sahu has now become part of this long-standing tradition of devotion. Carrying the sacred Ganga water, he has resolved to reach Baba’s shrine and offer it to Lord Shiva. Throughout the journey, he plans to continue chanting the name of Lord Shiva.
Local residents appreciated his devotion and determination. Several devotees wished him well and prayed for his safe journey.
