Political Tensions Rise Within Mahagathbandhan After Bankipur By-Election; Congress Targets Tejashwi Yadav

Patna: After the completion of polling for the Bankipur Assembly by-election, all political parties are now focused on the election results scheduled to be announced on August 3. However, even before the results are declared, internal differences within the opposition alliance Mahagathbandhan have started coming to the forefront in Bihar politics.

Congress National Spokesperson Asit Nath Tiwari launched a sharp attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav, raising serious questions over the alliance's functioning, leadership, and election strategy. He alleged that Tejashwi Yadav is no longer showing the same level of interest in strengthening the Mahagathbandhan.

Tiwari claimed that the RJD leadership failed to establish better coordination among alliance partners, which affected the election strategy and overall performance.

Questions Raised Over Mahagathbandhan's Functioning

The Congress spokesperson said that trust, communication, and coordination among alliance partners are essential for the success of any political alliance. He alleged that these elements were missing within the Mahagathbandhan.

He claimed that all alliance partners should have worked with a common strategy during the election, but this did not happen. According to him, the lack of coordination created confusion among party workers and weakened the campaign efforts.

Asit Nath Tiwari said elections cannot be won only on the strength of a candidate; organizational strength, strategic planning, and collective efforts of alliance partners are equally important.

Questions Raised Over the 'MY' Equation

The Congress leader also questioned the traditional 'MY' (Muslim-Yadav) social equation associated with the RJD. He claimed that this vote base was not united in the Bankipur by-election as it had been in the past.

He stated that Muslim and Yadav voters did not remain consolidated and that their support was divided among different political options. According to him, the traditional social base of the RJD is no longer as strong as before, and the leadership has failed to manage it effectively.

He added that social equations have always played an important role in Bihar politics, but changing political circumstances have made it difficult for parties to win elections solely on the basis of old formulas.

Attack on Tejashwi Yadav's Leadership

Asit Nath Tiwari also questioned Tejashwi Yadav's leadership ability. He said that the kind of active political initiative required to strengthen the Mahagathbandhan was not visible.

He alleged that proper communication was not established between leaders and workers of alliance partners, which weakened the opposition's strategy on the ground.

The Congress spokesperson said that the responsibility of an alliance is not limited to seat-sharing but also includes election campaigning, coordination among workers, and delivering a unified message to voters.

Allegation of an "Understanding" with BJP

Asit Nath Tiwari also questioned Tejashwi Yadav's political strategy. He claimed that discussions are taking place in political circles regarding a possible internal understanding between the RJD leadership and the BJP.

However, these allegations are part of political statements and have not been independently verified. Tiwari said that such discussions create confusion among opposition leaders and workers.

Political Statements Intensify Before Election Results

With the Bankipur by-election results approaching, political parties have intensified their allegations and counter-allegations. The outcome of the election will determine which party's strategy succeeded and which candidate received public support.

Both the ruling alliance and opposition parties are making claims of victory. Meanwhile, the internal disagreements within the Mahagathbandhan have added further heat to Bihar's political atmosphere.

Response from RJD Awaited

Following the allegations made by the Congress spokesperson, attention is now focused on the response from the RJD. It remains to be seen how Tejashwi Yadav and the RJD leadership respond to these claims.

The RJD has consistently accused the BJP and NDA of attempting to weaken the opposition. The latest exchange between Congress and RJD leaders has raised fresh questions about the unity of the Mahagathbandhan.

Possible Impact on Bihar Politics

The outcome of the Bankipur by-election is not being viewed as limited to just one assembly seat. Political analysts believe that the result could influence future political equations and alliance strategies in Bihar.

If the Mahagathbandhan's performance does not meet expectations, questions regarding leadership and coordination among alliance partners may increase. However, a strong performance would allow the alliance to project itself as united and politically effective.

At present, all eyes are on the election results to be announced on August 3. The outcome will reveal which party and candidate received the trust of Bankipur voters and how it may influence the future political landscape of Bihar.
