A deeply tragic and heart-wrenching piece of news has emerged from the Rupauli police station area in Purnia district, Bihar. An elderly farmer lost his life in a severe road accident here. Farmer Standing by the Roadside, Struck by a Fatal Vehicle

According to information received, the incident took place in Bihari Singh Tola, located within Doba Milik Panchayat under the Rupauli police station area. A local resident, the late/Uma Shankar Singh (approx. 65 years of age), was standing normally by the roadside close to his home.

Family members and local villagers shared that the atmosphere was peaceful like any other late Monday evening. During this time, a speeding Bajaj Gogo three-wheeler (auto/tempo) coming from the Mohanpur side was passing through at an uncontrolled speed. Due to alleged negligence or loss of control by the driver, the three-wheeler brutally hit elderly farmer Uma Shankar Singh, who was standing on the roadside.

The collision was so severe that the elderly farmer could not steady himself and fell straight onto the road, sustaining critical injuries. Panic spread across the surrounding area following the sudden accident. Hearing the loud noise, local people rushed to the spot. In a hurry, with the cooperation of family members and villagers, steps were taken to rush him for immediate treatment, but his critical injuries kept his condition precarious.

The deceased, Uma Shankar Singh, was the primary breadwinner for his family. He was a simple and hardworking farmer by profession. By toiling hard in the fields all day, he fed his family. After completing the legal formalities, the police wrapped up the paperwork. Following the post-mortem on Tuesday, as soon as the mortal remains of the elderly farmer reached his native village, Bihari Singh Tola, cries and wails echoed through the area.

The agonizing screams of the deceased's wife, children, and other relatives plunged the entire atmosphere into gloom. Hundreds of villagers gathered at the deceased's home to offer condolences. Villagers unanimously stated that Uma Shankar Singh was a very amiable, soft-spoken person entirely dedicated to his work. He shared good relations with everyone in the village. Everyone is stunned by his sudden demise.
