Of the 195 posts for Classes 6–8, 73 are backlog vacancies and 122 fall under the current roster. Similarly, among the 99 posts for Classes 9–10, 28 are backlog vacancies and 71 are current roster vacancies.

For Classes 11–12, 226 posts have been sanctioned, including 172 backlog vacancies and 54 current roster vacancies. Officials said this approach would help fill long-standing vacancies while ensuring compliance with reservation policies.

Bhagalpur Already Has Over 17,000 Teachers

According to official data from the District Education Department, 17,134 teachers are currently serving in government schools across Bhagalpur district.

Among them are 2,990 teachers appointed through the first phase of BPSC teacher recruitment, 2,159 appointed through the second phase, and 987 selected during the third phase. In addition, a large number of teachers appointed through earlier recruitment processes continue to serve in schools across the district.
