In the latest case, burglars broke into a locked house in the Tulsi Mandi area under Alamganj Police Station and escaped with cash, gold jewelry, and other valuables. In a separate incident, two bike-borne snatchers robbed a man of his mobile phone and ₹4,500 in cash on JP Ganga Path before fleeing the scene. The incidents have created panic among local residents, who are demanding increased police patrolling in the affected areas.

Locked House Targeted in Tulsi Mandi

According to reports, the family living in Tulsi Mandi had gone out for some work when the burglars took advantage of their absence. The accused allegedly broke the main door lock, entered the house, and searched through rooms and cupboards. They fled with approximately ₹50,000 in cash, a gold ring, gold earrings, and several other valuable items.

When the family returned home, they found the door lock broken. Inside, household items were scattered across the rooms, and the cupboards had been ransacked. After discovering the missing cash and jewelry, they immediately informed local residents and later lodged a complaint with the Alamganj Police.

Police Launch Investigation

After receiving information about the burglary, officers from Alamganj Police Station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Police inspected the house and began examining CCTV footage from nearby locations in an effort to identify the suspects. Preliminary findings suggest that the burglars may have conducted prior surveillance and were aware that the family would be away from home.

The victim raised an alarm, but the accused had already escaped. Local residents informed the police, who reached the spot soon afterward. The incident reportedly occurred in a busy area with regular traffic, making the criminals' successful escape a matter of concern.

Residents Express Concern

The snatching incident on JP Ganga Path has increased anxiety among commuters and local residents. Many people said that bike-borne criminals become particularly active during the evening and night hours. Individuals using mobile phones while walking or standing along the roadside are often targeted.
