The theft at the residence of a female security guard working within the hospital premises has not only spread panic among employees but has also exposed the fragility of the hospital administration's security claims. The victimized guard has filed a formal complaint at the Barari Police Station, alleging that thousands of rupees in cash and precious jewelry were stolen from her room.
The Details of the Incident
According to the information received, Runa Devi, who works as a security guard at Mayaganj Hospital, lives in a rented room near the hospital premises. Her primary duty is to ensure the safety of patients and their families visiting the hospital, yet her own residence proved to be insecure.
In her complaint, the victim stated that she had left for her ancestral village on July 18 due to personal reasons. She had secured her room before leaving, but upon returning on the morning of July 20, she was left in shock. The lock on her door was broken, and all her belongings were scattered inside.
Thieves Specifically Targeted the Room
Runa Devi reported that when she checked her cupboard and trunk, ₹10,000 in cash was missing. Furthermore, thieves had made off with all the silver jewelry she had bought with her hard-earned money.
The victim shared that she had saved these valuables and money with great difficulty. A crowd of locals gathered as soon as news of the incident spread. The security guard immediately informed the Barari Police, after which a police team arrived at the scene to conduct an inspection.

The Barari Police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Police officials stated that they are scanning footage from CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity to identify potential suspects.
According to the police, the theft appears to have been carried out by someone who was already aware that the security guard had left for her village.
