Health Camp Organized in Sikandarpur; 200 Villagers Benefit from Healthcare Services

BHAGALPUR/SIKANDARPUR: Reaffirming its commitment to making healthcare accessible and bringing quality medical treatment to the masses, NTPC’s ‘Jeevan Jyoti Hospital’ has taken a commendable step. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme, the hospital organized a one-day free health check-up and consultation camp at RC-2, Sikandarpur. Over 200 people from surrounding villages attended the camp to have their health checked and receive consultations from experienced physicians.

The Objective: Bringing Healthcare to the Last Mile

This effort by the NTPC Jeevan Jyoti Hospital is rooted in the philosophy that healthcare should not be confined to big cities and large hospitals but should also benefit those living in remote areas. Through this camp organized in the RC-2 area of Sikandarpur, the company provided a platform to raise awareness among local residents and facilitate the early detection of diseases.

Key Highlights and Services of the Camp

The camp began in the morning, with a large turnout of local residents, especially women, the elderly, and children. The team of medical experts focused on the following services during the patient examinations:

Comprehensive Health Screening: Physicians conducted tests for blood pressure, diabetes, and other general health parameters.

Specialist Consultations: Doctors at the camp provided advice for common ailments such as colds, coughs, skin issues, seasonal fevers, and joint pain, as well as guidance for more complex health concerns.

Distribution of Medicines: Following the consultations, essential and life-saving medicines were provided to patients on the spot, free of cost.

Awareness Sessions: Beyond health screenings, doctors educated the villagers on the importance of clean drinking water, nutritious diets, personal hygiene, and preventative measures against seasonal diseases.

Enthusiasm Among Patients and Appreciation from the Community

Rameshwar Mandal, a villager who attended the camp, said, "We often have to travel far into the city for even minor treatments, which costs us both time and money. With this initiative by NTPC, expert doctors became available right near our homes; it is nothing short of a huge relief for us."

Observing the success of the camp, the hospital management stated that NTPC has always been dedicated to the development of its surrounding communities. They affirmed that this work under CSR in the field of healthcare will continue in the future.

The Role of the Medical Team

Senior doctors from Jeevan Jyoti Hospital rendered their services at the camp. They acknowledged that while awareness regarding health has increased among people in rural areas, many minor illnesses turn serious due to a lack of timely consultation. During the camp, they not only examined the patients but also provided them with necessary guidelines to maintain their health in the future.

CSR: A Catalyst for Change

NTPC’s CSR policy is not limited to its industrial projects; it plays a significant role in improving the socio-economic conditions of the region. The hospital management believes that a healthy society forms the foundation of development. Therefore, by organizing such camps periodically, the hospital ensures its reach extends to the poor and marginalized sections of society.

The success of the camp in Sikandarpur has proven that if efforts are directed in the right way, rural India can become largely self-reliant in the field of healthcare. This step taken by NTPC Jeevan Jyoti Hospital has not only provided relief to 200 individuals but also fulfilled a major responsibility toward society.

NTPC plans to organize similar health camps in other areas in the coming days so that no individual is deprived of treatment due to a lack of healthcare services. This camp is a strong step in the direction of rural development and public welfare, earning widespread appreciation at the local level.
