Bhagalpur, Special Correspondent: The world-famous Shravani Mela, commencing on the sacred occasion of the holy month of Sawan, has left the Silk City of Bhagalpur and the historic town of Sultanganj (Ajgabinath Dham) fully decorated and prepared. Amidst extensive arrangements by the district administration and the municipal council across the mela zone, this year's captivating decorations have emerged as the primary focal point for Shiva devotees arriving from across the country and abroad. Lighting archways (toran dwars), grand entry gates, and state-of-the-art electrical decorations installed from Sultanganj's Namami Gange Ghat to the Ajgabinath Temple and the main Kanwariya pathway are bestowing an ethereal look upon the entire region. As dusk falls, these lighting gates and ornaments glowing in multi-colored lights become a special subject of fascination for pilgrims.
The Mela Zone Sparkles at Dusk, Lighting Archways Exude Splendor
The pathways for kanwarias collecting water from the north-flowing Ganga banks and proceeding toward Baba Baidyanath Dham during the Shravani Mela have been given a magnificent makeover.
Attractive Lighting Gates: Through the joint efforts of the municipal council and district administration, grand lighting archways have been established at prominent city intersections and routes. As twilight descends and the multi-colored LED lights on these arches illuminate, the entire atmosphere feels akin to a grand festival.
Shiva-Themed Decorations: Alongside tricolor LED lights on utility poles, attractive LED displays depicting Lord Shiva's symbols—the damru and trishul—have been installed, enhancing Sultanganj's nocturnal beauty manifold.
Area Adorned with Damru Themes and 3D Paintings
To elevate the grandeur of the mela zone, this year's setup showcases a unique confluence of traditional decor and modern art:
Massive Damru-Themed Gate: A massive and grand damru-themed entry gate has been constructed near the Radha Soami Satsang Beas along the unpaved Kanwariya pathway, built by artisans brought in from outside. A special feature of this gate is that pilgrims passing through are greeted by devotional Shiva tunes.
Krishnanand Stadium and Walls: Keeping the Chief Minister's arrival and inaugural programs in mind, special decorations have been set up at Krishnanand Stadium. The stadium's steps have been freshly painted, and 3D paintings depicting themes from the Shravani Mela have been etched onto the walls, captivating kanwarias and tourists alike.

Alongside decorations, high-tech arrangements have been implemented at the administrative level for visitors' convenience:
Multilingual Announcements: To facilitate Shiva devotees arriving from various states (Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Nepal), arrangements have been made to broadcast announcements via public address systems in six languages (Hindi, Nepali, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Angika, and Maithili).
Control Room Monitoring: A central control room has been established on the premises of Adarsh Madhya Vidyalaya, continuously broadcasting instructions regarding routes, medical camps, drinking water, and safety measures to kanwarias through approximately 105 loudspeakers.
The lighting archways, artistic entry gates, and stunning electrical decorations created in Sultanganj for the Shravani Mela have rendered this year's event exceptionally special.
