Magadh Regional Transport Authority's Major Action: FIR Lodged Against Two Vehicle Owners for Obtaining Permits Based on Fake Insurance Certificates, Department Issues Strict Appeal
Gaya/Patna: As part of the special campaign launched by the Transport Department and Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of Bihar against fraud, a major and strict action has come to light. The Magadh Regional Transport Authority has lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at the relevant police station against two vehicle owners in connection with the serious matter of obtaining vehicle permits using fake insurance certificates. This action has created panic among vehicle owners and transporters who attempt to bypass rules and secure permits through fraudulent documents.
Full Extent of Fraud Exposed During Investigation
Recently, applications for permit renewals and new permits for various vehicles had been received by the Magadh Regional Transport Authority. According to rules, having a valid motor insurance certificate is mandatory for a permit for any commercial or passenger vehicle.
In-Depth Technical Verification of Documents: Authority officials grew suspicious of certain applications, following which the received insurance documents were verified through the portals and digital databases of the respective insurance companies.
Documents Found to Be Fake: During the investigation, it was shockingly revealed that the insurance certificates attached to the applications were actually fake. The insurance companies flatly denied issuing those certificates, making it clear that the vehicle owners had resorted to forged documents to deceive the department.

Finding the documents to be fake, the transport authority treated the matter with utmost seriousness. In light of the violation of rules and the attempt to mislead the administrative machinery, it was decided to take immediate legal action against both vehicle owners.
Case Registered at Police Station: Under the direction of authorized officials of the authority, an FIR was lodged against the two accused vehicle owners at the local police station under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
Cancellation of Vehicle Documents and Permits: The police are now also investigating whether any organized gang or broker, who prepared fake insurance papers for money, was behind this fraud. Alongside this, the process to cancel the permits of those vehicles has also been initiated.

Following this incident, the Magadh Regional Transport Authority and the district transport administration have issued a strict warning to all vehicle owners, drivers, and transport organizations. The department has explicitly appealed that:
Use Only Valid Documents: Utilize only genuine documents obtained from authorized insurance companies and valid sources for vehicle permits, fitness tests, or any other work.
Stay Away from Brokers: Do not fall into the trap of any shortcuts or fraud. In this era of digital verification, the detection of fake papers is guaranteed.
Legal Consequences Must Be Faced: If the documents of any vehicle are found to be fake during future investigations, direct imprisonment action will be taken against the concerned vehicle owner without any leniency.
