Patna: In a major operation against illegal firearms, the Patna Police conducted a raid in Bhagwatipur Karmaur village under the Pandarak police station area and arrested a father and son. According to the police, the accused have been identified as Dayanand Paswan and his son Abhishek Kumar. During the raid, police claimed to have recovered three country-made firearms, one pistol, 140 live cartridges, and ₹56,200 in cash from their possession. The police are conducting a detailed investigation to determine the intended use of the seized weapons and whether the accused were linked to any criminal network.
According to police officials, they received confidential information that some individuals were in possession of illegal firearms in Bhagwatipur Karmaur village. Taking the tip-off seriously, a special team was formed to conduct a raid. As police arrived at the location, there was commotion in the area, but officers secured the premises and successfully completed the operation.
During the search, the police detained Dayanand Paswan and his son Abhishek Kumar. According to the police, officers recovered three country-made firearms, one pistol, 140 rounds of live ammunition, and ₹56,200 in cash from the premises. The seized weapons and ammunition have been confiscated and are being sent for forensic examination.
Police officials stated that the preliminary interrogation of the accused has yielded several important leads. However, detailed information has not been disclosed at this stage in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. Investigators are trying to determine where the weapons came from, why they were allegedly being kept, and whether the accused had links to a larger criminal network.
