Message of Environmental Conservation Echoes at Primary School Ramray Bagh under 'Ma Ke Naam 3.0' Campaign; Students Plant 'Matru-Vriksh' (Mother-Trees)

KAHALGAON (Bhagalpur): In a noble initiative towards environmental conservation, a special plantation program was organized at Primary School Ramray Bagh, located in the Kahalgaon subdivision, under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 3.0' (A Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign. The primary objective of this program was not only to make the school premises greener but also to instill a sense of respect for mothers and a sense of responsibility towards nature in the students. Held under the leadership of the school’s Headmaster, Sarvottam Kumar Sharma, the program saw enthusiastic participation from the young students.

Respect for Mother and Conservation of Nature

Initiating the program, Headmaster Sarvottam Kumar Sharma stated that the word 'Mother' in itself is a symbol of affection, sacrifice, and nourishment. Just as a mother selflessly nurtures her children, nature provides us with life. Addressing the students, he said, "The sapling you are planting today in the name of your mother is not just a plant; it is a symbol of your love for her. Caring for it is just like serving your mother."

Outline of the Campaign: 'Ma Ke Naam 3.0'

The 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign is being conducted across the country to maintain environmental balance. Under the third edition (3.0) of this campaign, various types of shade-providing and fruit-bearing trees were planted in the school. During this event:

Student Participation: Children from classes 1 to 5 chose plants of their own preference.

Resolution: Every student took a pledge to protect the plant they had sown until it grows and to water it regularly.

Guidance from Teachers: Other teachers at the school taught the children how to dig a pit correctly, plant the sapling, and the amount of manure and water it requires.

Elixir for the Environment

In the current era of rising pollution and global warming, such small efforts become highly significant. The Headmaster mentioned that the school administration would ensure a special 'Green Team' remains active even during the summer holidays to care for these plants, ensuring that none of them dry up.

Enthusiasm Among Students

During the plantation drive, a distinct joy was visible on the faces of the children. The little students were delighted as they held soil in their hands and watered the saplings. One student said, "I have planted a mango sapling in the name of my mother. When it grows big and bears fruit, it will remind me of her." This emotional response reflects the success of the campaign.

Message for the Community

This school program has sent a strong message not only to the students but also to the parents. The school has appealed to nearby villagers to plant at least one tree in the name of their mother in the vacant spaces around their homes. This will not only purify the environment but also spread greenery in every household.

Harmony of Academic and Moral Development

Primary School Ramray Bagh is known for its unique activities. Sarvottam Kumar Sharma explained that along with academic knowledge, the moral and social development of children is equally essential. Through tree plantation, children learn human virtues such as patience and responsibility. Nameplates of the students who planted them will also be installed near the saplings planted on the school premises today.

Impact of the Positive Initiative

At the conclusion of the program, all teachers and students collectively took a pledge to conserve the environment. This effort by the primary school in Kahalgaon serves as an ideal for other schools as well. Appreciating this initiative, the administration stated that if every school becomes active in this manner, every region of Bihar could be covered in a blanket of greenery within the next few years.
