Over 1.5 Lakh Devotees, Including 35,000 Dak Bam, Offer Jalabhishek; Area Echoes with Chants of Har Har Mahadev

Bihpur/Bhagalpur : On the auspicious occasion of the second Monday of the holy month of Sawan, an unprecedented and historic mass gathering of faith was witnessed at the renowned Baba Brajleshwarnath Dham (Madhwada village) in Bihpur, under the Bhagalpur district of Bihar. A massive surge of Shiva devotees arrived from far and wide for this holy second Somwari. According to temple trust committees and administrative figures, during this time, approximately 35,000 Dak Bam along with more than 1.5 lakh devotees stood in queues to offer water (Jalabhishek) to Lord Bholenath and prayed for fulfillment of their wishes. From early morning until late evening, the entire temple premises and surrounding areas reverberated with the resounding chants of "Har Har Mahadev" and "Bam Bam Bhole".

Jalabhishek Procession Began Early in the Morning

Incredible enthusiasm was seen among devotees regarding the second Monday of Sawan. Since late Sunday night, groups of Kanwarias and local Shiva devotees had begun arriving at Baba Brajleshwarnath Dham in Madhwada village.

Long Queues and Discipline: As soon as the temple doors opened early Monday morning, long queues of devotees formed for offering water inside the sanctum sanctorum. Remarkable discipline was observed among men, women, and children who waited patiently for hours for their turn.

Special Attraction of Dak Bam: The number of Dak Bam carrying holy Ganga water from Sultanganj and other ghats broke several previous records during this Somwari. Nearly 35,000 Dak Bam completed arduous journeys to offer Jalabhishek to Baba Brajleshwarnath, turning the entire fair atmosphere profoundly spiritual.

Administrative Security Arrangements and Vigilance of Volunteers

In view of the simultaneous gathering of over 1.5 lakh devotees, robust arrangements for law, order, and security were put in place. Senior officials from the Bihpur police station and district administration remained stationed on continuous camp duty.

Surveillance via CCTV and Drones: Under strict security arrangements, CCTV cameras were installed across the temple premises, entrance gates, and Kanwaria routes to keep a sharp eye on troublemakers.

Support from Local Volunteers: Temple committees and volunteer teams of local youth contributed actively toward distributing water, managing crowds, and assisting elderly women, preventing any kind of inconvenience.

Fair Ambiance and Marketplace Vibrancy

Because of the Sawan Bahar Mahotsav fair organized at Baba Brajleshwarnath Dham, a celebratory atmosphere prevailed across Madhwada village and surrounding rural areas. Service camps (stalls) were set up at various points to serve Kanwarias, offering free arrangements for tea, snacks, and medical assistance. Children and women enthusiastically shopped for traditional items, prayer materials, and toys displayed at the fair.

Following the successful and peaceful organization of the second Monday of Sawan, the temple management committee and local prominent citizens expressed gratitude toward the administration and all contributors.
