Painting Competition Organized Among Children Under Cleanliness Fortnight at Government Girls Higher Secondary School; Students Convey Message of Cleanliness and Environmental Conservation Through Colors
Public awareness campaigns regarding cleanliness are currently in full swing in Purnia district, Bihar. Continuing this momentum, a special and engaging program was organized under the 'Cleanliness Fortnight' at Purnia's prestigious Government Girls Higher Secondary School. During this event, a painting competition was held among the school's students, where the girls brilliantly captured the message of cleanliness on canvas using their paintbrushes and colors.
Visualizing Cleanliness Through Colors
The atmosphere of the competition was intensely enthusiastic and inspiring. Held in the school hall or main room, a large number of students participated with immense zeal in this painting competition. Displaying their imagination, the schoolgirls created drawings directly illustrating the importance of cleanliness in our daily lives.
Clean Surroundings and Green Environment: In their paintings, the students outlined an ideal environment featuring clean villages, a clean city, blue skies, and lush green trees.
Proper Use of Dustbins: The message of disposing of waste in designated places—namely blue and green dustbins—instead of littering was explained very simply through drawings.
Water Conservation and Personal Hygiene: Themes such as handwashing habits, a plastic-free India, and the cleanliness of water sources were also skillfully incorporated by the students into their artworks.
Teachers and Guests Appreciate the Students
Present during the program were the school's teachers, principal, and other administrative staff. They closely inspected all the students' artworks and lavished high praise on their talent.
Addressing the students on this occasion, the teachers noted that painting is not merely an art or a hobby, but an extremely effective medium to awaken society. When a young girl or youth conveys the message of cleanliness and health through their drawings, its impact runs deep across every section of society. Such events under the Cleanliness Fortnight help develop a sense of moral responsibility and social engagement in children from a very young age.
Objective of Cleanliness Fortnight and Public Awareness
The primary goal of organizing such creative competitions (such as debates, essay writing, slogan writing, and painting) in various schools during the Cleanliness Fortnight is to make the new generation conscious of sanitation. The positive impact of these campaigns running in Purnia district is now becoming visible. The school's female students resolved that they will not only keep their school and classrooms clean but also inspire people in their homes and surrounding neighborhoods to maintain cleanliness.
At the conclusion of the competition, the artworks of students who performed exceptionally well were commended, and they were encouraged for this creative effort. This successful event generated an energetic and positive atmosphere across the entire school premises.
