The confirmation of a 65-year-old senior citizen testing positive for the coronavirus has caused a sense of urgency among the district administration and health officials. The infection was confirmed following an RT-PCR test at a private pathology center, after which the patient was immediately admitted to the COVID ward of JLNMCH (Mayaganj Hospital).
Case Discovery and Hospitalization
According to the information received, the senior citizen had been experiencing cough, fever, and mild difficulty in breathing for the past few days. As a precautionary measure, his family took him to a private pathology center in the city for an RT-PCR test. As soon as the report came back positive, both the hospital management and the family were caught off guard.
Following protocols, the patient was immediately shifted to the isolation ward at Mayaganj Hospital. Nodal officers at the hospital stated that while the patient is currently stable, he is being kept under special observation due to his age and pre-existing health conditions.
