Patna: A major robbery in the Bhagwanganj area of Patna has sent shockwaves across the city. Armed robbers allegedly entered the residence of businessman Deepak Soni late at night, held his entire family hostage, and escaped with gold and silver jewelry worth approximately ₹4.5 million (45 lakh) along with other valuables. After receiving information about the incident, the local police, forensic experts, and the City SP rushed to the spot. Police have begun examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area and have reportedly obtained several important leads to identify the accused.

Armed Robbers Entered the House Late at Night

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred while Deepak Soni and his family were asleep. A group of more than half a dozen armed robbers allegedly broke into the house, woke the family members, and held them hostage at gunpoint. The criminals then began searching every room in the house.

Whenever family members attempted to resist, the robbers allegedly threatened them with dire consequences. Out of fear, the family remained silent while the gang calmly searched the house and collected valuables.

According to the victims, the robbers opened cupboards and lockers inside the house and took away gold and silver ornaments, cash, and other valuable belongings. The family has estimated the total value of the stolen jewelry at around ₹4.5 million.
