In this sequence, a major success has been achieved by the Kasba police station police of Purnia district. Taking action based on secret information received by the police, a special vehicle checking campaign was conducted on the Tikapur-Mohani road route within the Kasba police station area. During this intensive search and checking, the police recovered a heavy quantity of 170 liters of foreign liquor from a four-wheeler vehicle. Two cunning smugglers engaging in liquor smuggling were also arrested from the spot. The SDPO confirmed this entire operation and made several key disclosures.

Secret Information and Framework of the Special Checking Campaign

Ever since the prohibition law was implemented in Bihar, a game of hide-and-seek has continuously persisted between the police and smugglers. Smugglers constantly use new routes and methods to evade police eyes, but the police intelligence network is now also appearing fully active.

Concrete Intelligence Input: The Kasba police station police had received concrete information through secret sources that some smugglers were going to pass a large consignment of illegal foreign liquor through the area via a four-wheeler vehicle. This information was taken very seriously.

Trap on Tikapur-Mohani Route: Catching wind of this activity of the smugglers, the police prepared their strategy and set up barricades on the sensitive Tikapur-Mohani road route coming under the Kasba police station area to start a special checking campaign. Intensive searches of every suspicious four-wheeler and two-wheeler vehicle passing on the road began.

How Were the Smugglers Nabbed? Secret Unveiled During Vehicle Search

The police were fully alert during the checking campaign. In the process, a suspicious four-wheeler vehicle passed through that route, which the police signaled to stop.

Attempt to Stop Vehicle and Flee: Seeing the police, instead of slowing down the vehicle's speed, the driver attempted to flee with it, but the police force, alert in advance, showed promptness and surrounded the vehicle from all sides, forcing it to stop.

Recovery of 170 Liters of Foreign Liquor: When the police searched the interior and boot of that four-wheeler vehicle, the officers' eyes widened. Cartons of illegal foreign liquor of various brands were found hidden inside the vehicle. When the total liquor was counted, it was found to be 170 liters.

Two Smugglers Arrested: The police nabbed both operators riding in the vehicle right from the spot. Interrogation of the arrested smugglers is underway regarding where they were bringing this liquor from and in which area of Purnia or its surroundings they planned to peddle it.

SDPO's Statement and Further Legal Action

Regarding this entire successful operation, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) provided detailed information to the media.

Exposing the Smugglers' Network: The SDPO stated that both arrested smugglers are being interrogated rigorously. The police are attempting to find out who else is involved behind this illegal liquor syndicate and who its main kingpin is. The police are also examining mobile call details (CDRs) of the smugglers to reach the roots of this inter-district or interstate gang.

Seized Vehicle and Case Registered Under Excise Act: The police have seized the liquor and the vehicle. A First Information Report (First Information Report - FIR) has been registered against both arrested accused persons under relevant sections of the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. After completing the judicial process, both accused persons have been sent to jail.

This alertness by the Kasba police station police has once again proven that the legal noose is tightening around illegal liquor traders in the Purnia district and the police are in no mood to spare such criminals under any circumstances.
