Major Districts: The impact of the Yellow Alert will also cover Arrah (Bhojpur), Buxar, Rohtas (Sasaram), Kaimur (Bhabua), Aurangabad, and Arwal districts. Sudden gusts of wind and sporadic rainfall accompanied by lightning are anticipated in these regions during the afternoon or evening hours.
Weather in Capital Patna: Partially cloudy skies with intermittent drizzle or scattered rainfall are likely in the capital Patna and surrounding areas, which may offer slight relief from humid heat. However, no major threat warnings have been issued for this area.
Meteorological Department's Warning and Instructions for Farmers
The Meteorological Department has clarified that while extremely heavy rainfall is not expected anywhere in the state on Sunday, threats may arise due to lightning (vajrapat) and squally winds:
Protection from Lightning: During adverse weather and lightning, people have been urged not to stand in open fields, beneath trees, or near electricity poles under any circumstances. Farmers, in particular, have been instructed to remain vigilant while working in fields and seek immediate shelter in safe places if the weather turns bad.
Administrative Vigilance: The Disaster Management Department and local administration have also issued precautionary directions for rural areas regarding potential lightning strikes to prevent any untoward incidents.
The Yellow Alert issued across 25 districts of Bihar on Sunday indicates that the monsoon remains fully active and weather conditions can shift unexpectedly at any time. Citizens across all affected districts, including Chhapra, Motihari, Darbhanga, Purnia, Arrah, and Rohtas, are advised to keep track of weather updates while stepping outdoors and stay safe.
